Dream Machines

Sunday, April 26th was the annual Half Moon Bay dream machines event.  This event features all kinds of classic, vintage and new machines, from tractors to airplanes, and everything in between.

It's a popular event, which brings lots of airplane and classic car buffs to the coastside.  It is truly not worth trying to go anywhere by car during this event, as the traffic is generally bumper-to-bumper from HMB to north of Moss Beach.

It was a beautiful day, so we decided to walk down to the airport and check it out!  There were vintage military planes, private planes and an old DC-3, that had been refurbished, just beautiful!  It was great to watch the airplanes fly by, sometimes in formation, and you could sure hear that DC-3 when it took off!

It was a win-win, we got to see the airshow, got a great walk, and didn't have to deal with any traffic!

One of the small airplanes, getting ready to take off.  This aircraft came from the El Toro air base.
Up, up and away!

Here goes another one - it was great, there was one take off or landing, right after another.
And there goes the DC-3!  A lot of the airplanes were taking passengers up - it was a beautiful day for a flight above the ocean and surrounding areas.

This is one of the paths that we took to get home.  We walked down Airport Blvd., but came home over the ocean bluffs.  You can tell that we've had lots of rain - there are plenty of wildflowers about!
