In and around the bay area...

Below are some pictures we took as we toured around the bay area, beginning with 207 Vermont Ave!  As you can see, this particular day started out gray and over-cast, but eventually the sun came out.

Walkway to the front door

Courtyard, with very happy lavender on the left.

Back yard, with new fire pit!  Sadly, we never did light it.

More back yard

And more!

Typical Sunday mornings (and every morning) in Moss Beach!  Either Bryan or Peter would walk down and get the morning paper, and we'd all enjoy reading through it.

When John visited in July, he left a bottle of Firestone wine for Bryan and Peter's visit - he even signed it for them.  It was wonderful!

A leisurely evening with after-dinner port!  Yum!

Beautiful flowers at the entry way

By the fireplace in the ball room.  There was someone playing the piano, as well, which was just wonderful and added to the ambiance of the room.

Another view of the gardens on this bright and beautiful day.

I loved the way that these branches made a picture frame!

On Friday, we went into San Francisco

This is the beach down at Chrissy Field.  Lots of people and dogs were out enjoying the warm weather.

Bryan, Peter and the Golden Gate bridge!  Note the dogs in the background - their owner had just thrown the ball!

Another shot.  And the dog in the water is bringing the ball back.  It was great fun to watch them.

AGP revisited - this time with sunshine and the full bridge!  When we had the 2002 AGP in this same spot, it was foggy, windy and over-cast, and we never did see the whole bridge - this was much better!

A nice passer-by took this picture of the 4 of us with the bridge

On our way to visit Fort Point

ditto!

When we got around to Fort Point, the fort was open and we were able to explore, including climbing to the top of the fort where the gun turrets were!  Was a tad windy, but amazing views in all directions!

This is the Fort Point lighthouse - it's stationed atop the fort.  It's no longer operational, but quite a contrast to the bridge construction

The lighthouse framed by the bridge

Bryan, Peter and the lighthouse - I guess I have a thing about lighthouses!

The bridge from the top of the fort

We were able to see views of the bridge that we'd never seen before - hence, 1.2 million pictures!

The guys!

This is a shot of the shoreline, heading to Baker Beach.

On our tour of the fort, Lee sighted this flag.  It has 33 stars on it, and apparently was only in service for about 6 months.

The bridge in fog, from the overlook heading south, just before getting on to the bridge - yes, it was chilly!  It didn't take us long to take this picture!

On a walk around the neighborhood, we came across this house - the residents are clearly fans of Halloween!

As you know, everyone who visits MUST take the walk to the Pt. Montara lighthouse!

Peter and the lighthouse on a cool, cloudy day

While Bryan and Peter were visiting, Celeste's sister, brother-in-law and niece were also visiting her from New Zealand!  So, we had a great bar-b-que, caught up with Debbie, Biz and Samantha, and heard about their family trip to Hawaii!  Bryan took this shot of them when they took a walk to the beach to see the harbor seals and "stairway to the sea".

Another great Moss Beach walk, with the Distillery in the back ground.  Sadly, we never made it to the Distillery for a G&T on the deck - we've moved it to the list for next time!
