Gary's surprise retirement dinner

It worked out perfectly that on our way to Las Vegas we were able to attend Gary's surprise retirement dinner at the Spaghetti Factory in Fresno.  Gary's wife, Joyce planned it for him, and he was surprised to arrive at the restaurant and find all of us there.

We had a great time celebrating this momentous occasion and got to see some family members that we hadn't seen in ages, and meet a lot of Gary and Joyce's friends.  After dinner, Lee, John and I went back to their house where we spent the night.  It was great to have that time to visit with them and catch up.

Gary was initially concerned about what he would do with all his time - but, I think that he's found that his time just flies by!  It's an amazing thing that happens to time when you are retired - you think you are going to have lots of it, but at the end of the day, you wonder where it went!

But we know that they will enjoy their new relaxed, stress-free lifestyle, and are looking forward to a visit from them in the near future.

Here they come!  We had lots of discussions before their arrival about yelling "surprise", but in the end, I don't remember if we did or not!
Yes, he was surprised!  Joyce gets big points for pulling this off!
The new "retirees"!

The retirement party!
Thanks, Joyce, for including us in such a special occasion!  Gary, enjoy every moment of your new retired life.
