Lake Tahoe

We thought that it might be nice to leave the beach and take Jo and John to the mountains.  Lake Tahoe was the obvious choice.  John had been through there a couple of years ago on our way to Reno, but we were there for a very short time.

We found a vacation rental right on the lake!  Perfect accommodation in a perfect location.  The weather was just beautiful.  We took a drive all around the lake, stopped and enjoyed the views, did some shopping and of course visited a casino!  We also did a sail around the lake which was wonderful!  There wasn't much wind, so we motored towards the other end of the lake and let the wind bring us back.  It was so lovely and quiet when the sail was up and the wind was propelling us.  Also a bonus that they had a full bar on board!  We enjoyed a beer along with great company and awesome lake views with blue, blue Lake Tahoe water.  Life is GOOD!!

Beautiful Emerald Bay.  

The Tahoe Queen paddle-wheel boat on a cruise around the island.  The structure on the top of the island is a tea house, built by the Scandinavian woman who owned a house on the shore at Emerald Bay as well as the island.

On our way around the lake we stopped at a visitors center.  Bears abound at Lake Tahoe!  Jo and John enjoyed having their pictures taken with them at various places
