Our visit with Chris and Geoff...

On Sunday, Peter, John, Lee and I left on a 6 day tour around the East Cape of the north island.  Our first stop was in Rotorura to visit Chris and Geoff, who had recently moved there from Hamilton.  They have a lovely home on a hill, on 2 acres of land.  They have three Pekin ducks who are very friendly and a couple of woolly sheep, in addition to Millie, their Labradoodle.

Chris and Geoff prepared a yummy lunch, and Peter brought a loaf of his yummy home-made bread.

After lunch we all went to a local sculpture exhibition, and then to see Chris and Geoff's bach - a New Zealand beach house - located on Lake Rotoma.

It was great to see Chris and Geoff, their new home and bach, and a great beginning to our East Cape trip.

Geoff, with a wood pigeon on his shoulder.  Sadly the wood pigeon was recently demised, and they were preparing to bury it.

One of the amazing Maori sculptures at the show.  Also, beautiful lake Rotoma in the background.

Another amazing sculpture!  We saw lots of them we would love to have, fortunately, they wouldn't fit in our suitcase!

Thanks for a lovely afternoon, Chris and Geoff!
