We decided that a "summer of celebrations" was in order! The first celebration to kick off this momentous occasion was held in Bellingham at Whatcom Falls Park, with all the family in the Pacific Northwest in attendance!
We were only missing Nathan and Jacob, who were both working and unable to attend. Otherwise, the whole family was there! It was a great day and in spite of some off and on drizzle everyone had a great time, especially the little ones who really enjoyed the playground.
Dave did the honors by bar-b-queing tri-tip and chicken which were both delicious!! Val got a birthday cake at Costco - big enough for all of us. We had lots of side dishes and munchies and drinks and just enjoyed being together for the day.
After enjoying lunch and cake, all of the kids and grand kids gave Lee beautiful cards and letters with their favorite memories of him. It was a wonderful, special day, one that we will remember always!
Thanks to all of you for making Lee's first birthday celebration such a special one! We love you all so much!
